august 12th - a new confidence

TWELVE

Today I realised that a new confidence had crept its way into my life. It’s the confidence I have in the universe.

Sometimes life puts up a guard. It can seem as though there are road blocks on all paths. The window latches are rusty and won’t open. The doors are all locked and the keys are definitely NOT in the key bowl where they should be, even though you SPECIFICALLY explained the IMPORTANCE of placing the keys in the key bowl for this EXACT reason. All forces are whack. All communication is jammed. All confidence is shattered.

Then one day you wake up and there is a flutter in your heart. Your legs seem to drag less. Your face hurts from smiling. The bus is on time. Customers are friendly. Your night rolls by in a flash of laughter and calm. And as you comfortably fall asleep (without the feeling of mild insomnia you are normally used to), you come to the conclusion that the universe knows exactly what’s what.

It listened to you when you quietly wondered: am I not a good person? Do I not strive for the happiness of others above myself? It took into account all the road blocks and shut doors and people talking smack and it saw how well you turned it around all on your own.
So it took a quick sip of wine, chuckled to itself and with the warmth of a proud parent, it gave your life a little extra to make sure you remember:

life (even when it’s the pits) is beautiful.

PEACE & HAPPINESS
