august 11th - a new blend of tea

ELEVEN

Today I tried a new blend of tea (cinnamon chilli), in a tea house that I never knew existed, in a suburb that I can’t remember the name of.

I’m addicted to tea. I know that if I was told that I could never have tea ever again in life, I would probably have a miniature heart attack whilst also having an enourmous breakdown. It’s got something to do with the taste of tea combined with the calming/healing qualities it possesses. Also, it comes in so many flavours and can be drank so many different ways!
You can pick a tea to match your mood (terrific), or your outfit (orange zing), or the time of day (Perth breakfast). You can have it hot or cold, with milk or without, with honey or sugar or plain, in a pot, in a tea-cup, in a soup bowl, in a mug. You can have it when you want it and it can soothe your tummy aches or your soul aches.

But the greatest way to have tea is to share it.

So many lives are sorted and so many problems diverted when two people share a pot of tea and a few well chosen words of wisdom.
I had a shadow following me today and it didn’t seem to want to leave. But gradually, as the cinnamon worked its sweet magic and the chilli warmed my thoughts, words spoken to me from a place of genuine care took hold of the shadow and gently pushed it out the door.

The tea was wonderful; the company even better.
