worth remembering, remarkable.
One:
I brushed my teeth in the shower last night and this morning. It
reminds me of my best friend. The one who is always there, no matter how many
seas need to be crossed, no matter what crazy comes to pass. That amazing
feeling of warm water mixed with fresh teeth made her imminent arrival feel so
much more real.
Noteworthy because:
so many of my life memories are her memories. Also
because: if you haven’t tried brushing your teeth in the shower, you’re missing
out. Do it. It’ll blow your mind.
Two:
I’ve chosen to dedicate a chunk of my up-coming year to the African
wildlife. Lions mostly but elephants also. Those vast expanses of savannah have
filled my mind with such curiosity and awe. I wonder what adventures it will
bring. I wonder how much longer the animals will be able to live freely. I
wonder if I’ll find anything. The wilderness (wherever you find it) is
astounding. But because it does not speak a language we always understand we,
as a global society, have come to think that we’re entitled to change, kill,
move, run-out, mine, destroy, sell and damage whatever part of it we deem
unworthy of our time. It’s enough to break your heart and send you traipsing
through the heart of lion country in search of an answer.
Noteworthy because:
nature in its primary form is something that should
not be wasted or forgotten.
Three:
I woke up with Prince’s Purple Rain stuck in my head. And it won’t
go away. And there is only person who I want to tell or who would even
understand.
Noteworthy because:
I don’t really know. Or I do but I'm too chicken to say anything. But as I write this my guts
have knots in them & my heart is pounding & my hands are a little bit
sweaty (gross, I know, shut up) so I guess that means something, right? Yeah.
So if you know, you know, and I know, so
maybe call, you know? (X)
