april 17th - give a little whistle
T t
For some time now, I have been so busy and caught up in the occurrences of the day-to-day that I’ve hardly had a moment to digest what has actually been happening. And life often gets that way; moving so fast and in so many different directions that you might not even be aware of what’s going on.
That is, until you are presented with one of life’s natural gifts; a moment of nothing.
A blissful breath in the heckers, teckers, out of this world, crazy happenings of your average day.
It could be a whole day or maybe only a couple of hours. But suddenly life moves in slow mo (motion, not mustache) and you have the opportunity to assess your actions and find some clarity.
You might discover that you’re a little bit behind, either because there aren’t enough hours in the day or because there are too many tasks to complete in a day. Take your pick – they’re both perfectly acceptable.
There could be a slight buzzing in your brain. The aftermath of a gazillion thoughts racing through your head that need to be redirected.
You might discover that you’re perfectly fine.
You could realise that you haven’t got any milk for your tea. Or the bulb that you planted 2 weeks ago is finally sprouting. Or that it’s a little bit chilly in the evenings now and actually, come to think of it, how the hell did Autumn sneak up on us like that? I swear summer only started a few weeks ago. Right?
You’ll think of phone calls you should make. Of chores half done. Of meals that were delightful. Lists to be created. Encounters that were fleeting but near perfect. Numerous embarrassing instances you seem to ALWAYS get yourself into. Excitement ahead. Of peace in this moment.
Those moments of blissful quiet and clarity are most important of all. Because even though they may be made of the tiniest amount of time, they help you see what is truly important.
For those who need the push: get out there. Get it started and get it done. It will all come together in the end.
And for those who haven’t already taken a breath: take a moment. Or a few. And try not to lose sight of what is real.
You have to look in order to see.
Sometimes life is what happens when you have to crawl up the stairs.
MEGA LOVE COMING ATCHA
