Soul defining questions
Recently I entered an online competition to win two candles,
each with a flamingo on it and the smell of gardenias inside it (and no, don’t
ask me why these two elements were paired together because I have no idea).
In order to be in the running to win these lucrative candles
I had to give the usual information required for online databases; name, date
of birth, address, phone number, hair colour, favourite colour, blood type.
But
I also had to finish two sentences.
1. I’m inspired by:
2. Because:
Without hesitation, I finished the sentences and sent my
answers off into the cavernous corners of the interwebs. It wasn’t until later
that evening that I realised the significance of what I had written.
Who inspires you? Why do they inspire you? Are you ever
really inspired? These are complex questions to answer that may, in fact, never
be fully understood or answered. But off I went, tip tapping away at the keys,
only checking the paragraph for spelling once before sending it off to
who-knows-where for someone-or-other to ponder over.
I didn’t have to think twice about what I wrote because it
came straight from my heart. I don’t care how corny that sounds because it’s
the truth and as far as I’m concerned, there ain’t nothin finer than that
(except maybe my beb when he winks at me, but that’s another story).
I felt uneasy that I’d shared my inner inspirations with a
virtual human rather than with a breathing one so I decided to share it here.
For your reading pleasure I give you: my inspiration.
1. I’m inspired by: my oldest brother, Marcus J. Csomor
2. Because: He always follows his dreams. Even when people tell
him it's not possible, he still works his way to achieving what his heart
desires. It's true of his art, it's true of his work and its true of his life.
And it's shown me that I can do (and be) anything I set my mind to.
Thank you, Marči.
PEACE X
