november 2nd - clarity

clarity n.,
clearness [clear]

There are many clear and concise explanations for countless things in life. Science has this incredible way of proving the impossible possible and blowing the minds of us mere mortals to infinity and beyond.
Reasoning, facts, evidence, proof; all are elements that form these particular things into a reality that we can relate to. They justify their existence. Our existence. They provide sense to the world.
But there are certain things in life that cannot be explained, that are not solidified in the eyes of science (or reasoning for that matter)
and that somehow make more sense than sense itself.

When music and joy connect an entire gaggle of people, into one fantastic bunch of happy, free and dancing souls, and you whisper thankyou to no one and everyone at once.

Gratitude.

When you have no mattress or even a yoga mat to sleep on, in a tent pitched semi-purposefully, in a field filled with wandering gypsy kids and a few too many prickly plants, but the grass is so thick and soft it creates the ultimate bed for you, free from effort.

Joy.

When you turn up brown from the sun and the dirt, with a tangled dread-lock in your mane, in a city you feel like tiny child in, and your friends (the most kind-hearted ones of all) look at you with eyes that say: I needed you here, how did you know?

Perfect timing.

When the daylight seems gloriously endless, just like the conversation, and you look at a mural on a bedroom wall, and you realise that no matter where or when or who we are, you are with me and I am with you.

Peace.

When your flesh and blood pours their heart out to your ears and the night air, and you both know that some words don’t need to be said.

Acceptance.

When the sides of your mouth can’t help but break into a smile, and your tummy is crammed with excited butterflies, all because of something quite scruffy but ultimately beautiful.

Bliss.

Although these things cannot be explained through theories or calculations, research or processes of elimination, they are as clear as the first light of day.
Clear as the call of a lone wolf howling.
Clear as the reason we strive to be better.

Life and all it’s delightful events don’t always need to be explained. They can’t always be put into boxed categories with set rules. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find clarity in those un-describable happenings.
Because sometimes in life, it’s the unexplainable that will open your eyes.

It’s the unexplainable that will set you free.

PEACE X

Love it will not dismay you
Betray or enslave you, it will set you free
Be more like the man you were made to be.
