My friend is a superstar.
She delivered a life.
And then
she saved it.
And she did it by herself.
And she did it well.
She delivered and saved a little baby all at once and it makes me so
proud.
Her light shines brighter than any star in any galaxy. I am blessed to
know her.
This amazing incident happened at the back-end of an intense month.
Lives had been lost and farewelled, assignments were piled up (and continue to
do so), the memory of warmer days was slowly drifting away and that all too
familiar feeling of treading water seems to want to stick around.
But despite all of this, in the moment when it all could have fallen
apart, this capable, beautiful, determined young lady stepped up and made a
decision to never give up.
When all things churn together to make your path as thick as molasses,
it can be tempting to let yourself crumble.
You might want to quit. Or choose
the path of least resistance. Or blame whoever or whatever you think is
responsible for the mess that lies in front of you.
But life is for living.
And that molasses path will not always be
beneath your feet. And if you take a moment to open your eyes, you may realise
that what is required of you is larger than this day or this year or this
minute.
This is something I am constantly reminded of by people who do amazing
deeds and stand up to face adversity.
They power through. They inspire.
And
together we build strength and support to get us through whatever comes our
way.
Be aware of those around you and never doubt that help is at hand should
you ever need it.
And like my supersonic, super amazing, superstar of a friend, know that
you are able to make a difference in this world, so get out there and do it.
Sometimes life is what happens when you can’t reach the emergency button
and you realise it’s all or nothing.
PEACE & LOVE
X
